Story Archives

Story is how wisdom is passed down through the ages.

This archive is to be filled with quintessential moments reflecting the beauty and light of the life of Wiseacres.

It is dedicated to the children and future generations.

Building our common house Many years ago when we first began to build our community there was much struggle. It was like the Tower of Babel. We built this community together with the idea that we could reach the sky.  All of us, nations onto ourselves, each feeling very strong in our individuality. Prior to coming together, we were each leaders in our own right.  I remember, after a year or two together, it seem like we were waving our own flags of personal missions and identities and missing seeing the people who were actually waving them. Creating an intentional community was such a unique experience that there were not many people out there to call upon for help. We had so much to learn about how to live in community. Struggling, working and playing together generated bonds and skills in which community emerges.                                                                                                                David W.

Damon Brown and David Weinstock talk about the early days of the community.

A bunch of us reminiscing on the early days.

Gene Hart is a dear friend of Wiseacres.  Here he has a few thoughts on it all.
